EECU was founded on the credit union philosophy of People
Helping People. As a not-for-profit organization, volunteers
play important roles in our success. Therefore, we are always
looking for dedicated volunteers to help in a number of capacities.

The credit union is always seeking qualified volunteers for
these key positions. Each December, a brief, informational
meeting is held for prospective nominees and committee members.
Topics covered include: duties and responsibilities of a
Board or Committee member, the time commitment expected, and
the training available for each position. In addition, a
question and answer session is held to ensure that prospective
volunteers understand the nature of the positions they seek.
For more information about volunteering as a Board or Committee
member, please contact Debbie Eaker at (314) 298-0055 or (800)
522-6009.
EECU’s Board of Directors consists of seven volunteers whose
main responsibilities include: overseeing that all credit
union policies are followed, establishing and monitoring the
credit union’s strategic plan, and ensuring that the credit
union operates in a safe and secure manner thereby keeping
the members’ best interest as a top priority.
EECU’s Supervisory Committee ensures the financial well-being
of the credit union as well as the prompt preparation of accounting
records and reports. This committee acts as the members’
“watchdog” and makes certain the credit union maintains its
standard of excellence and that all regulations, procedures
and policies governing EECU are followed.
EECU Ambassadors are a select group of energetic volunteers
who help distribute information and promote the credit union
and its services within their school building or organization.
Recommendations usually come from existing Ambassadors,
EECU Board or Committee members, or EECU employees. Ambassadors
must be EECU members in good standing with a well-rounded
knowledge of EECU’s services and philosophies. The Ideal
Ambassador…
- Uses
EECU’s services, is eager to improve their colleagues’
understanding of the credit union and encourages them
to take advantage of EECU’s services.
- Serves
as a liaison between EECU and their school building
or organization, educating non-members about the benefits
of joining EECU.
- Attends
Ambassador-related meetings
- Distributes
EECU materials, makes personal contacts, and schedules
an EECU representative to speak at staff meetings.
- Participates
in EECU’s annual Quest for Education Scholarship
Program by assisting with judging or the selection process.
- Supports
EECU and emphasizes that any credit union member may
volunteer to serve on the Supervisory Committee or
the Board of Directors.
