Questions & Answers
Overdraft protection acts as a "safety net" to keep
you from bouncing checks and incurring fees should you overdraw
your checking account. EECU provides two types of overdraft
protection: from a personal line-of-credit and from your Regular
Savings account.
This type of overdraft protection is a personal protection
loan. If necessary, funds are automatically transferred from
the line-of-credit to cover your clearing checks. There is
no fee for the service, but an applicable
interest rate applies. You must apply,
and be approved, for the overdraft protection line-of-credit
in order for it to become effective. Read
our disclosure for more details.
EECU automatically transfers the necessary funds from your
Regular Savings account to cover clearing checks. There is
no fee for this service. If you don't sign up for overdraft
protection line-of-credit, you automatically receive overdraft
protection from your Regular Savings Account. The number of
transfers that can be completed are limited to six each month,
due to Federal Regulation D. Regulation D transfers include:
-
Pre-authorized or automatic transfers/withdrawals
(savings overdraft)
-
Touch Tone Teller transfers
-
Telephone transfers
-
EECU On-Line transfers
