This statement is made on behalf of the financial service providers
in the EECU family of companies that offer banking services,
investments, and mortgage services: EECU (Educational Employees
Credit Union), Investment Services Group, LLC, and Mortgage
Solutions, LLC.
Please read this Statement carefully, as any use of eecu.com
constitutes your agreement to all of EECU’s Online Terms and
Conditions, including but not limited to, this Statement.
This Internet Security Practices Statement is part
of, and is incorporated into the EECU Membership and Account
Agreement, and EECU’s Online Terms and Conditions.
To qualify for, and use, EECU’s Internet-based services, a member
must be in good standing.
EECU makes every attempt to ensure all information, rates and
promotional offers listed on eecu.com is current and
accurate. However, this information should be construed only
as a guideline. EECU reserves the right to make subsequent
changes to the content of eecu.com at any time due to
change in policy, State and Federal regulations, or otherwise.
When you visit the eecu.com web servers, we store a cookie—a
small piece of information—on your computer’s hard drive. This
cookie file is a technical requirement that establishes and
maintains a session so members can request information and conduct
business transactions. The cookie contains no confidential
or personal information and is not used to track member activity
after leaving eecu.com. EECU identifies and tracks the
single, previous Internet web site address visitors have come
from when accessing eecu.com. This is a standard industry
practice used to determine how people navigate to eecu.com.
EECU may use cookies to customize your web site experience.
As you visit eecu.com, our web server also recognizes
what web browser and operating system you are using. EECU currently
collects aggregate information about the use of eecu.com
that does not personally identify you. Various parts of eecu.com
allow you to submit information to us via e-mail. EECU collects
the e-mail addresses of those EECU members who send us e-mail
and the information provided in the e-mail. EECU also collects
information volunteered by our members through surveys, contests
and electronic forms. This information is used to improve the
content of eecu.com, and to enable you to have a voice
in the future of the credit union and its services.
The information you send EECU is stored on web servers that
reside behind a firewall to shield these servers and their information
from unauthorized access. EECU’s firewall is regularly tested
by independent experts, and audited by state and federal agencies,
to ensure proper operation. You communicate with EECU’s web
servers by using your computer’s web browser. Some areas of
eecu.com are secured and use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL),
an additional layer of security, in order to maintain the confidentiality
of all information sent between eecu.com and your computer.
Specifically requested member information, such as EECU account
number, Social Security number and Personal Identification Number
(PIN) is used to authenticate your identity, determine whether
to provide access to your information in the secured section
of eecu.com, and enable you to conduct financial transactions.
EECU only supports current web browsers that use Secure Sockets
Layer (SSL). You may need to update your browser occasionally
to use eecu.com.
- The
information you send EECU will not be read by others,
and
- You
are in fact dealing with EECU, instead of a web site
impersonating us. You can verify you are dealing
with EECU by verifying the Site Certificate Properties.
Your information reaches us through SSL to help protect
the contents of the message from eavesdropping.
|
For security purposes, an EECU account number and Personal
Identification Number (PIN) are required to access your account
through our Internet-based services. Your PIN should not
be stored on your computer and should not be the same as any
of your other PINs. You will be better protected if you change
your PIN frequently and do not use the same PIN for any other
Internet site. Do not disclose or otherwise make your PIN
available to anyone. If you authorize anyone to use your
PIN, that authority may be attributed to, and obligate, you.
If you are ever uncomfortable communicating with EECU electronically,
you may instead use traditional methods of communication such
as using the telephone, U.S. mail, or visiting any of EECU’s
physical locations.
Regular Internet email is not secure. Various sections of
eecu.com allow you to submit information to EECU by
email. You should use these sections to provide information
that is non-sensitive and non-confidential. EECU strongly
urges you not to provide personal or account information through
e-mail or request information from us that is confidential
or sensitive. As unsecured Internet email is not secure,
you accept the risks associated with sending insecure e-mail
messages and/or any files you attach to these insecure e-mails.
If you request sensitive or confidential information from
EECU via unsecured e-mail, you accept these risks as well.
To communicate sensitive or confidential information, we strongly
urge you to contact us by phone, mail or by visiting any of
our locations.
From eecu.com, we may collect member e-mail addresses
and information provided in the e-mail from children age 13
and under. This information is volunteered by these members
through contests, surveys and electronic forms. The gathering
of such information is purely for informational purposes only
to improve the content of eecu.com and will not be sold
to any third party.
EECU.com contains hyperlinks to other Internet web sites operated
by third party companies or organizations. When you click
on these links, you will leave eecu.com and go to the
linked site. EECU is not responsible for the contents, use,
or privacy and Internet security practices, and their terms
and conditions apply. Please review the privacy and Internet
security practices of each of the linked Internet web sites
you visit before you provide any personally identifiable information.
All links or other connections to other Internet web sites,
or mention of other companies or organizations, is solely
for informational purposes to EECU members and should not
be construed as an endorsement or relationship other than
what is stated where such a connection is made.
EECU reserves the right to change any part of its Internet
Security Practices Statement at any time. You agree to check
our Statement periodically to make sure you remain comfortable
with its content. Nothing in this Statement affects our ability
to collect, combine, use, verify, retain, and report, including
sharing with our regulators, information submitted in connection
with the provision of EECU products and services. EECU also
reserves the right to do the same with information obtained
from public sources or third parties, and other information
that does not personally identify you, without reference to
this Internet Security Practices Statement.
